Germany: Economy recovering, but there are still some shadows
September 10, 09 by Mark75Everybody looks with great interest to German Economy performance: this is because not only Germany is the biggest economy in Europe and can be considered the “economic engine” of the area, but also because Germay is, for several country (such as Italy) one of the key export market, thus influencing very directly their economies. By the way, the state of German economy influence also tourism in several countries, since some statistics show how Germans are the biggest spender, as tourists.
Therefore, it’s very important positive data that are coming from Germany, confirming positive GDP result in the 2nd quarter (+0.3% Q2/Q1): in July, factory order have risen +3.5% (month/month) and exports gained +2.3% (m/m).
Some weak spots however remain, and they cast some shadow on the strength of German recovery. Always in July, industrial production fell -0.9%, while it was expected a +1.6% rise. And most of all, worries come from a possible rise of unemployment in the last part of the year.
