Iceland is tempted by the Euro

In Iceland is increasingly lively debate on entry into the European Union and the euro zone. In fact the economy volatile Icelandic krona exchange , coupled with high interest rates , is putting in great difficulty, many companies, and more and more (especially among listed companies or those that are very import-export) those that take no more accounts in national currency, but prefer the Euro, as the Icelandic Central Bank strives to discourage this trend.
Indeed, there who would unilaterally adopt the Euro , without entering European Union, in order to shorten the maximum time of waiting: according to proponents of this view, the current high economic openness to trade may already allow Iceland to adopt the euro without excessive recoil.
As the unilateral adoption of an idea is the limit, it seems increasingly marked the way to Iceland joining the European Union and towards adopting the euro, that critics are beginning to consider the “lesser evil” compared to high interest rates and volatile exchange rates.
